Dr Kashani has more than seven years experience in industry. He Joined URS specialised structures (formerly Scott Wilson/Benaim team) in September 2006 as graduate engineer. He involved in the design and independent structural check of complex structures including detail design of the North Station of the Emirates Airline (London Cable Car), Abu Dhabi Wastewater Treatment Plant (the largest wastewater treatment plant in the Middle East) and various elements of the Crossrail project.

Before joining URS Dr Kashani worked as an assistant Site Engineer in Iran during his summer placement from university.  He has experience in seismic design and assessment of multi-storey residential building structures in Tehran.

Dr Kashani served the ICE Graduates and Students Committee in South Branch as a Vice-Chair in 2008. He was a committee member of the ICE Society for Earthquake and Civil Engineering Dynamics (SECED) in 2009-2011. He won the 2nd place for poster presentation at the IStructE Young Researchers' conference in 2010 for a poster entitled “Seismic Performance of Corrosion Damaged RC Bridges in Earthquake Regions”. He also won the first prize of the Graduates and Students paper competition of the ICE South Branch in 2008.

He is currently on a short-term contract with Jacobs Engineering to develop advance finite element modelling technique for structural assessment of existing Network Rails bridges across the UK.

Dr Kashani is very much interested in solving complex and challenging problems in real civil engineering projects. The details of projects and expertise are available in Dr Kashani's detailed CV. Please contact him for further information.
